The H-1 Shoulder Work and PCCP Pavement Rehabilitation project will be done in 2 phases:
Phase 1 to begin in the Spring of 2018 and end in the Fall of 2018.
Phase 2 will begin in the Fall of 2018 and end in the Summer of 2020.
Phase 1 will consist of pavement rehabilitation of approximately 2.0 miles of H-1 East bound and West bound lanes. Included in the project work will be highway lighting, drainage systems upgrades and safety upgrades to the highway shoulder.
Phase 2 will continue the widening of the shoulder for an additional 2/3 of a mile of the H-1 East bound between the Waimalu Viaduct and the Aiea Off Ramp. Highway lighting, drainage systems upgrades and safety upgrades to the highway shoulder will also continue as part of Phase 2.
